We’re sharing our firsthand experiences and thoughts on the key events we usually attend — Let’s see what Money20/20 Asia Bangkok edition has to offer.
As a company deeply rooted in the payments industry, specialised in providing payment systems for online merchant who desire to attract the privacy-conscious or the unbanked customers, our founders and partners have spent the past 18 years attending major events and conventions in payments, fintech, and e-commerce. We’re sharing our firsthand experiences and thoughts on the key events we usually attend — Let’s see what Money20/20 Asia Bangkok edition has to offer.
Money20/20 is probably one of the most global payment industry conventions in the world, with editions in Europe (Amsterdam), Asia (Bangkok), USA (Las Vegas) and Middle East (Riyadh).
Although Money20/20 Asia is not free to attend, the fact that an entrée is charged to visitor does have a very positive result : only visitors with a real interest in networking will attend, which also benefits the companies investing in a stand on Money20/20 : any visitor becomes a future potential business relation. Depending on the event location, prices range from 300 USD to 2500 USD (discounts for early birds and startups are available)
Money20/20 Asia is one of my preferred venues because it is built with an exceptional ground plan concept : all stands are built in a range of circles, with a central space available to reserve meeting tables, and all FREE food stands are built around the outer circle.
Money20/20 Asia takes place in the Queen Sirikit convention centre, still in the city and depending on your hotel location and traffic, you can be either 10 to 40 minutes drive from the venue.
Aside from the flight expenses, Money20/20 is probably one of the cheapest international payment industry events to attend : Bangkok hotels are very cheap (most 5* hotel will cost you less than 100 € per night) and as to after event experience : the choice of restaurants and things to see in Bangkok is out of this world !
Our Money20/20 Asia Experience
Having already attended Money20/20 Asia 3 times in a row, we plan our visit using the Money20/20 app : very easy to organise meetings in advance, decide which stands are must-sees for new contacts and business leads, and which ones are important for catching up with existing partners or friends in the industry.
The fact that Money20/20 Asia has a circular ground plan really saves you kilometres of walking, especially when you have planned a lot of meetings in the reservable central meeting tables hub.
Although it is not one the biggest conventions in the world, the fact that it is really well organized and has an entrée fee also results in stand presenters not being mere promo material or booklet distributors, but active and knowable conversation partners in our mutual field of interest. This results is more time spend on valuable exchange of information than in more traditional events.
Although when we visit Money20/20 Asia, we focus on Asian relations, we also noticed many European companies visiting the even or having a stand at Money20/20. We even joked between our selved : we fly 10.000 km from Europe to Asia and aside from establishing new relations in Asia, we also end up meeting again with existing European contacts or making new European contacts !
Our verdict on Money20/20 Asia
If as a merchant or a payment system provider you intend to expand your footprint into Asia … this is the event to establish contacts with pan-Asian companies ! Visitors and Exhibitors are focused on networking, many workshops and conferences to attend, and worthwhile evening events to join !
If you wish to meet us one on one at the next Money20/20 Asia convention, which will take place on April 21st to 23rd 2026 in Bangkok, to discuss how we can assist you with our specific payment solutions, just reach out to us and we’ll setup a meeting with you during these days in Bangkok.
